Nothing really to update with, I have a bit of a long weekend due to CNY (it’s a public holiday here) and afterwards I have an interview at another CPA firm. I recently tried to update how my desktop looked, it looked kinda drab before. So I gave it a kick.

I couldn’t stand looking at it anymore. Everytime I work on it i’m too tired to try to work on it… =.=….

so I’m going to stop working on it. This is it. Tweaked some colours here it is. I’m just angry and depressed. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to stay happy in life. I honestly cannot remember the last time I was happy that did not involve copious amounts of alcohol Maybe I’ll just sleep like a log when the weekend comes. That’ll fix me.

this is true by the way, I know people in the field, they’re basically husks of their former self. I’ve also met with some managers, they looked extremely sleep deprived, on edge and frankly like they suffer from psychosis.

Another year has come and gone. My exams were ok, but they were the first time I had an open book exam and sat a public exam in the same hall has 1000+ people. It was definitely a different atmosphere to anything I experienced in university. You could feel the air was different and it shifted away from that casual atmosphere you feel in a university exam. Everyone was more serious like they were betting their life and career on it.

So I hope the results are good, I think I would be completely devastated if I failed both papers I sat. I’m just not used to failing. It took me months to get over the last paper I failed. That aside though the papers were hard, they were questions that were either open ended or asked for analysis but never gave you the luxury to sit down and think properly about how to answer the question or what the question was actually asking.

I did this after my exams. I’m not done yet and the progress post can be found a ways down from this post. I mentioned in that post that this update screencap wasn’t a good one for the reason that it does not show progress like how a before/after comparison does not show progress, only a result.

I hated 2011. Good riddance. Bring on 2012.

But as I mentioned to a friend, this is probably because I’m too big of a pessimist/cynic. Objectively speaking, 2009-2010 were far worse years (for me) in comparison. Graduation, bad economy, no job, no direction, no motivation, no help from anyone, did part time and temp work; I was essentially a freeter for almost 2 years. 2011 was my first time getting a stable job, started my professional qualification process and quitting the part times that I hated (teaching lolis and shoutas english *shudder*) So 2011 wasn’t actually too bad, a lot happened.

I think a lot of people also might feel that 2011 was a really bad year though. Very few good things happened. Putting garbage economy aside. 2011 was filled with lots of natural disasters, mayhem, radiation, uprisings, and crazy gunmen. I cannot actually see 2012 getting better. But I just have a gut feeling it should improve for me at least.

I have an interview on Monday at a tier2 audit firm. I’m pretty nervous, it will be the first time I’ve interviewed at such a large company and also the first time I will be sitting a panel interview and this is only the 2nd time I’m being interviewed at an audit company. If all goes well I’ll be sitting in a semi-cushy (cushy as far as trainees go) Tax Advisory job. The auditors are the ones that go crazy on trips and pull insane OT. Tax guys sorta sit at base and only pull crazy OT during accounting year ends (surprise surprise guess what time it is). And I’m so terrible at interviews. I have a tendency to say unecessary things and I can’t express my excitement for work as enthusiastically as they want me to.

~~Chances are though I’ll manage to pull through these exams, that interview not so much (zero confidence). I’ll probably be going back to my same old design job…~~

Oh yeah. I update the previous thread with art update. I’m trying to see if I can do those spiffy “process shots” that some people do. So I’ll update the progress periodically so you can see the working or thought process involved.

I had a relaxing sunday after an extremely stressful week. I go on my study leave in about 10 days.

Slightly cleaner albeit incomplete lineart with better proportions, will finish later. Haven’t decided what that hand is doing yet. I always hated 2D girls with enormous boobs, they’re kinda grotesque so I gave her some modest assets, but Yukari should have a nice butt.

Dec 6 2011 – I’ll try just updating this thread at key stages of completion until this is finished. I just have no will to draw doujin lately…(quite evidently) So I figure I should at least draw something that can be finished quicker.

Ok I had Ran in it originally as just a random doodle. So I thought, why not. Ran shouldn’t be just spectating, she should be enthusiastically participating. Obviously.

My study leave actually starts on the 11th so I get about 17 days-ish to study. I hope that’s enough….getting tense, I haven’t had an exam in a long time. Uni feels so far away now, when exams were routine. To give you an idea of how routine. My degree had 20 credits and each course I took was half a credit so i took 40 courses If each course had 1 midterm 1 final then that is at least 80 exams over the course of 4 years. But of course it won’t be that little because I took a few courses that had 2 midterms 1 final. So we’re probably talking somewhere along the line of 85+ exams, and now I’m getting worked up over 2 3 hour papers.

moved Chen closer so it feels like an actual group shot. I felt she was strangely separated from the group before. Fixed some minor things. Going to start putting on colours next. Oh Yeah This is from a post back but I also Shrunk the total size a bit, extended the canvas and gave Yukari an ahoge.

1st JAN 2012 – Ok this is a VERY bad progress update shot, this doesn’t really show you much in between what my work looks like in between putting in the flats and what I do to achieve what I want. :/

update – Jan 15th 2012 – Now with more blur Not done with it yet. This is an even bigger jump than last time.

Eeeh I wasted another Sunday. I didn’t study or do anything. I feel guilty.

What I DID do was I sketched that up there and I watched anime. I don’t do that much but I try to fit it in whenever. This season I’m watching Last Exile Ginyoku no Fam, Working!!, Ika Musume. I’ll probably be picking up Tamayura in the near future
