CNY

Happy Chinese New Year.  New start to a new year (again).  So I hope things don’t suck hard for me or anyone else. Allow me to direct everyone to the new page I opened because I forgot it was 2012

Nothing really to update with, I have a bit of a long weekend due to CNY (it’s a public holiday here) and afterwards I have an interview at another CPA firm.  I recently tried to update how my desktop looked, it looked kinda drab before.  So I gave it a kick.

I am kinda curious as to what the second icon on the taskbar is..

the thing that looks kinda like a dumbell? It’s Trillian. An all-in-one messenger, kinda like Empathy if you used Ubuntu. Both convenient and inconvenient at the same time. I no longer have to log into multiple programs, it doesn’t hog resources like MSN does. But it has limited functionality.

I see.. I heard some good things about a similar program called Digsby, maybe I’ll install that sometimes too :D

it’s only useful if you have friends across multiple platforms and you’re too lazy to install those programs. Although I’d say anything that gets around MSN is good, that program is so bloated…:/

I guess I have tonnes of accounts across different platforms, and am trying to centralise all the stuff instead of having different browser windows and apps for each and every one of my google chat, facebook chat, msn, et cetera..

Yeah that makes sense. I’ve not tried Digsby but if it’s the same thing as Trillian then it’s probably worth it just to have everything (or at least most things) centralized into one app. It makes being online more convenient and saves loads of time alternating between programs. I remember it was particularly painful on my old laptop because it was slowing down and dying etc. Having to juggle MSN, Google Chat did not make it very happy.
